Mercury Lodge No.4581
Mercury Lodge was consecrated on 17th December 1923 at the Tumble Down Dick Hotel, Farnborough. The significance of our consecration date is that as it was exactly 20 years to the day that the first powered flight by the Wright Brothers had taken place. The date chosen for a lodge with such aeronautical connections was most apt, however it appears to have been purely coincidental. Lodge Website

Ashburn St Johns Lodge No.9395
Ashburn St johns was consecrated on the 22nd November 1990 at the Masonic Hall Aldershot, by the then Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro. James Bullen. It held its meetings initially at Kenward House, Hartley Wintney, moved to Aldershot in 1991, and then in 1996 to its present venue at the Farnborough Masonic Centre. The idea for the name of the Lodge and the badge on which the jewel is based, originated from the bridge at Fordingbridge in Hampshire which has seven arches (this being a significant number in Freemasonry). Near the bridge is a Hotel, the Ashburn, and close by is the site of an old Wayfarers Hospital which was run by the Knights of St John, hence Ashburn St Johns.
